A man has been arrested following reports of womens' underwear being stolen from nearby washing lines.
Police said they have "recovered a number of items of interest" from a house in Christchurch today, following reports of womens' underwear being stolen off washing lines in Elizabeth St, Matapo St and Wainui St in Riccarton.
As a result, a 44-year-old man has been charged with two counts of burglary and has been bailed to appear in Christchurch District court next Wednesday.
Police said their investigations were continuing, and asked anyone in the area who may have had female underwear stolen from their clothesline, or had items taken from their property, to contact Police by calling 03 363 7400 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
