A Taupo man has denied murdering the mother of his three children.
Martin Cranswick Schofield, 49, pleaded not guilty in the High Court at Rotorua today to the murder of 47-year-old Katrina Drummond.
Ms Drummond was found dead in a bedroom of her Elizabeth St, Taupo home last month.
The pair have three daughters together and are listed in property records as co-owners of the house.
It is unclear if they were in a relationship at the time of the death.
Schofield's lawyer, Andy Schulze, said they were seeking a psychiatrist's report and that could "impact the way the case proceeds".
Mr Schulze said he expected to receive the report next month.
Justice Timothy Brewer, who appeared in court via video feed, set a trial date for March 7, 2016.
Schofield was remanded in custody until his case review hearing on July 15.
Justice Brewer denied a media application to photograph Schofield in court.
