I took over an hour removing all the labels from my new dinner set. Could somebody please invent an easy "peel off" label.

After my previous rant about the state of Puhinui Park in Papatoetoe, I rang Auckland Council and spoke to helpful and friendly staff. I was given three job numbers (empty the bins, clean the pond, request extra bins be installed). My dog and I went for our usual walk the next morning and the park was a hive of activity with several men cleaning out the pond. I also saw both rubbish bins were empty and all the surrounding rubbish gone. Well done to all and I hope park maintenance will now be a regular occurrence.

Those who push and shove to get on to the buses and trains without first letting the exiting passengers off. These types have no manners at all, a lot have day-packs on their backs therefore physically pushing the exiting passengers getting off a bus against the AT Hop card machine as they try to tag off. It happens every day on all public transport systems. A bit more consideration, please.

We were out fishing on the Manukau last Sunday. When we got back to Little Huia our tow vehicle had a flat battery. All the other fishermen were so helpful.

I realise that cruise ships may bring welcome tourist dollars, but do they have to sound their foghorn at 6am and wake the entire city?

Huge credit to two ladies whose dog had an accident on the Kohi Beach footpath. Not only did these women run to the nearby shops for cleaning gear, but they also redirected pedestrians around the mess. They are a credit to our community.
