One person was injured in a house fire in Rotorua this morning.
Around 6:20am the fire service received multiple calls about a house fire on Kotare Street.
Fire communications spokesman Colin Underdown said when fire crews arrived the front section of the three-bedroom house was well ablaze.
One person was treated at the scene by ambulance staff, he said.
A fire investigator attended the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
Meanwhile, an old Lower Hutt hotel has been badly damaged by a fire this morning.
The ground floor of the two-storey hotel on the corner of Queens Drive and King Crescent was ablaze when fire crews arrived at the scene around 7:30am, fire communications spokeswoman Jan Wills said.
It took 11 fire crews a couple of hours to get the fire under control, Ms Wills said.She said no one was injured in the fire and the hotel was believed to be no longer in use.
