Auckland Transport has made over $1 million less in parking revenue over the past year.
In the financial year ended in June, total income from parking and enforcement was $73.2 million - down from $74.5 million in the previous financial year.
It includes $16 million worth of parking fines and traffic infringements, which include no registration, no warrant of fitness or driving in a bus lane.
Auckland Transport puts the lower revenue down to more education, the fact the first 10 minutes parking is free in the central city, lower prices at parking buildings, as well as better driver behaviour in bus and transit lanes.
