The family of missing Taranaki Outdoor Pursuits and Education Centre instructor Bryce Jourdain have thanked all those involved with the search since the Paritutu Rock climbing tragedy.
In a statement released today, Mr Jourdain's wife, Robyn, said she was overwhelmed by the support the family had received from the community.
"While we still want Bryce's body home so we can give him his final resting place, we hugely appreciate the rescue efforts of all involved in the search.
"We know they have exhausted every possible resource available in the past three weeks."
She said the family had now shifted their attention to organising a memorial service to celebrate Bryce's life.
No date or venue could be confirmed yet.
"Again, we cannot thank you all enough for the incredible support you continue to give us at this difficult time," she said.
The body of Stephen Kahukaka-Gedye, 17, is also still missing.
New Plymouth police have confirmed the search for the two men has officially been called off.
They said private searches for the missing bodies would continue.
