Two men have been arrested following an attack which left a man hospitalised in Lower Hutt yesterday morning.
A 28-year-old was knocked unconscious after a confrontation with a group of men and women on Cambridge Terrace around 2.30am.
He suffered facial fractures and remains in Hutt Hospital this morning.
Detective Kylee Cusin said the group were travelling in a white 1992 Toyota Corona at the time on Cambridge Terrace, near the intersection of Wingate Crescent, Naenae.
"We have charged two 23-year-old Lower Hutt men with assault yesterday and they have been in police custody to appear in the Lower Hutt District Court today."
Detective Cusin said have spoken to a number of witnesses but would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident or observed aggressive people in the area early yesterday morning.
