A man charged in connection with the murder of Christchurch schoolgirl Jade Bayliss was remanded on bail during a court appearance today.
Jolon Erin Scott Sweeney, 40, a security officer, is charged with being with an accessory to a burglary in which Jade, 13, was killed in her home.
He was also charged with criminal harassment of the girl's mother. He was remanded on bail to appear January 16.
Another man, Jeremy George Edward McLaughlin, is in custody on a charge of the murdering the teen.
McLaughlin, 34, is also charged with burgling her home and then setting fire to it. He is to appear for a post-committal conference on January 20.
