Police are appeal for witnesses to an Auckland road accident which has left a young woman fighting for her life.
The woman was struck by a vehicle as she crossed Sandringham Rd near Farrelly Ave in suburban Wesley shortly after 2pm yesterday.
Police said they had spoken to the driver of the car which hit the woman but were keen to speak to other witnesses, particularly the driver of a brown four-wheel-drive vehicle which was heading away from the city at the time of the crash.
The young woman is in Auckland City Hospital in a critical condition.
Anyone with any information should call Constable Justin West of the Serious Crash Unit.
