Police are hunting an arsonist who torched a workmen's hut at Napier Intermediate yesterday afternoon and made off with a number of expensive tools.
Constable Anne Morrison said the Fire Service was called about 1.15pm to the blazing building which was gutted.
Afterwards several items, including a large water blaster, nail guns and tools were found to be missing from the site.
Ms Morrison appealed to anyone seeing any suspicious activities around the school to come forward.
She warned that the tools, engraved "Stead Construction", may be offered for sale.
