The Auckland District Court was evacuated this afternoon after a rubbish bin was set on fire inside the building.
Three fire crews attended the fire at 3pm and managed to confine the blaze to the bin and the surrounding wall.
"The bin was set on fire on level two of the building, but it did not spread beyond the bin," said Tony McDonald, fire service spokesman.
People have now been allowed to return inside the building.
