Cannabis growers in the Far North are returning to small bush plots.
Area commander Inspector Chris Scahill said of the roughly 100,000 plants found and destroyed each year, 50,000 were in Northland - and of those, 40,000-45,000 were in the Far North.
He said the way cannabis was being grown appeared to be changing. from indoor to bush plots.
