Police have charged a woman with murder after a 28-year-old woman was stabbed to death at a party in south Auckland earlier this month.
Preva Shortland died after she was stabbed in an altercation at a house in Glenveagh Park Drive, Manurewa, shortly after midnight on July 11.
A 32-year-old Papatoetoe woman was arrested two days after the death and appeared in Manukau District Court charged with assaulting Ms Shortland.
Police today said the woman, who has name suppression, now faces a murder charge.
She will reappear in court on August 4.
