A 93-year-old woman has died after being hit by a vehicle on a Hastings pedestrian crossing yesterday.
The woman was struck on Omahu Road near Hawke's Bay Hospital about 5pm yesterday.She died late last night.
The vehicle's 21-year-old driver stopped after the accident and was cooperating with police.
Senior Sergeant Stu Fleming said police were still establishing whether charges would be laid.
He appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
The serious crash unit is investigating.
