Also expectant was news presenter Greg Boyed, whose Swiss songstress wife, Caroline Chevin, is due to give birth to the couple's first child.
Wright told us on Tuesday: "I finished up at work a few weeks ago so have been busy finishing off renovating and prepping the nursery. All done, so now it's a case of keeping the cat out of the bassinet while we hurry up and wait."
Meanwhile, one of our favourite and always cheerful TV reporters, Seven Sharp's Matt Chisholm is off the market.
Spy can reveal Chisholm has popped the question to the very beautiful Ellen Cairns. Cairns is a trained journalist who works as general manager at Antipodeans Abroad.
The love birds told Spy: "We first met on an Auckland dance floor seven years ago. However we ran into each other again on the street in October 2013 and have been together ever since."
Cairns, 30, said of the proposal: "We hiked up Mt Taranaki, got to the top ... ate a sandwich and some scroggin, then Matt busted out an engagement ring and popped the question. He couldn't get on one knee though, or else he would've fallen off the mountain."
Chisholm said Cairns had easily won the approval of his family, including his mate and older brother Nick.
"Nick definitely approves, because she can back a trailer, makes a great batch of cheese rolls and supports the Highlanders!"
The couple will marry at The Homestead in Omakau, Central Otago, next year.
