Northern Districts cricketer Scott Kuggeleijn will go in trial in July next year fighting two sexual assault charges.
The 23-year-old pleaded not guilty to a charge of sexual violation by way of rape on May 17, 2015 and indecent assault between March 2, 2015 and March 6, 2015 when he first appeared in the Hamilton District Court in July.
He reappeared in court this afternoon, when a trial date was set down for July 25, next year.
He was remanded on further bail to reappear on that date.
There are two alleged victims from two separate incidents.
The charges arises out of alleged incidents in Hamilton.
Kuggeleijn has played cricket previously for Wellington but returned to his home town of Hamilton two years ago to play for the Northern Knights.
The charges were laid two weeks before this year's Northern Districts Cricket side was announced. At the time, chief executive Peter Roach wouldn't comment whether the charges would affect his selection.
However, he was then announced in the squad and remains a regular part of the team as a fast bowler.
