Timeline of the Gulf of Mexico oil slick
On April 20, 2010, an explosion at the Deepwater Horizon oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico caused oil to begin leaking into the sea. On July 15, BP finally announced it had stopped the oil flow. We document an environmental disaster.
