Lalita’s story: New Zealand aid workers in Nepal

Lalita is six years old, but with malnutrition stunting her growth she looks much younger. As a two-month-old baby she got an infection in her feet which became gangrenous and resulted in her losing the front half of each of her feet. Last month a group of New Zealand aid workers from international aid organisation cbm traveled to Nepal to visit the organisation’s local Community Based Rehabilitation programme which is run across much of India.
