Broadcaster Paul Holmes is selling his Mediterranean-style Auckland home for just under $2 million.
Holmes said yesterday that he did not want to talk about the sale but it was due to a change in priorities.
The 49-year-old radio and television personality underwent gruelling radiotherapy after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer late last year.
He returned to work last month.
Holmes' three-bedroom, three-bathroom Parnell home is described by Remuera real estate agent Leila MacDonald as a "private oasis designer home."
The asking price was around $1.9 million, she said.
The house, which Holmes bought last year, has a swimming pool and a library along with north facing views over a reserve.
It is advertised as being in the "desirable pocket of Parnell" and providing "Arabian nights and glorious days."
"By night the intimacy and warmth of Middle Eastern influences and sumptuous imported fixtures envelop this outstanding three-bedroom, three-bathroom home opening to terraces, exotic landscaped gardens and pool," the Barfoot & Thompson advertisement claims.
"By day the airy, unique ambience and north-facing views provide the privacy and lifestyle you seek close to the Central Business District."
Viewing is by appointment only.
Earlier this year, Holmes bought Mana Lodge, a secluded mansion in Hawkes Bay.
The mansion, south of Havelock North, has more than 18ha of farmland, seven bedrooms, a pool, gymnasium, tennis court and stables.
It is understood that he will live in Auckland during the week and return to his Hawkes Bay retreat for the weekends.
