An Auckland freight business has been fined $50,000 after a teenage worker had his skull fractured when a large crate fell on him.

Shares in logistics company Mainfreight have rallied after it revealed a 39pc annual profit leap.

Mainfreight said its annual profit of $65.7 million was up nearly 40pc on the previous year.
