It is that Clean Green system that won him numerous awards and sent him overseas to represent his country at the Clean Tech Challenge - and resulted in his new business.
The successful farm effluent system is installed by his team all over New Zealand, and that is where the Spinning Jenny comes in.
Mr Lewis says when a new system is ordered the pump equipment is delivered to the Invercargill workshop where it is all pre-fitted into a pump shed.
That, and all other materials required, are then delivered on-site as a kitset and the team flies in, installs it, and flies out about a week later.
The Spinning Jenny makes running pipes more efficient.
The legs are joined such that the pipe runs smoothly so it doesn't snag or kink. It can be operated by one person, rather than having to be manned at the jenny as well as by the pipe installer.
The whole unit is designed to cart the pipework, boxing and tools required for the installation.
Mr Lewis says as well as being a Spinning Jenny, it is a superb large trailer.
The Spinning Jenny design has a copyright and can be purchased from the Clean Green Effluent Company.
The company now has a second base out of Hamilton to cover the North Island and engineering firms in both Hamilton and Invercargill are contracted to produce the Spinning Jenny to order.
