A relaxing day of country fun for the whole family is on offer at Te Puna School's annual Country Fair next Saturday, March 18.
The fair will be jam-packed with fun activities for young and old, flavour-filled food and stalls for all. Children can enjoy the coconut shy, plate smash,rifle range shooting, face painting and much more.
A cake stall will be chocka with home-baked cakes, slices and muffins for sale plus homemade sweets such as fudge, coconut ice and toffee for those with a sweet tooth.
The café will offer tea and coffee and lots of scones, plus there's a barbecue, hangi, candy floss and drinks. People can pre-order a hangi for lunch or buy it on the day.
There will be plants and produce for sale, with a selection of jams, chutneys, pickles and sauces, and there's a secondhand book sale - and the world-famous helicopter ping-pong drop is at 1.30pm on the school field - you could win a free helicopter ride!
Funds raised from the country fair will help towards the annual contribution for the school library and the IT.
Te Puna School PTA chairwoman Lissa Carston says the school is also raising funds to improve and update the junior school sand pit and to turn it into a bigger sand area with more water play activities and maybe a small stream.
