The Country's Jamie Mackay caught up with chief executive of Dairy NZ Dr Tim Mackle to chew the fat over rural issues.
The big story last week was the positive Global Dairy Trade Event but Dr Mackle says "two swallows don't make a summer".
Things are starting to look better for dairy though and Dr Mackle discusses the economics around the new breakeven milk price of $5.05 in great detail.
Jamie Mackay rounds off the interview by addressing the elephant in the room, what are Dr Tim Mackle's thoughts on the Havelock North water crisis?
