More than 400 service men and women are buried at the Eltham cemetery. On Thursday Eltham locals, visitors and dignitaries paid homage to these heroes, as well as those buried overseas, with a dawn service, a parade through town, the laying of wreaths at the memorial at Eltham Primary School and the laying of memorial crosses at the cemetery.
Anzac Day memorial services were also held in Stratford, Inglewood and Kaponga.
