The first ever football match to be abandoned due to rain at Portsmouth's Fratton Park since 1955 occured yesterday when heavy downpours made the match unplayable in adverse conditions. Footage from Tuesday's game between Portsmouth and Wycombe which was abandoned at half-time with the score level at 1-1 because of a waterlogged pitch showed a heavy downpour not only affecting visibility but also making it impossible for the crowd to see the match.
