Rio: Lisa Carrington keeps double-gold dream alive

Lisa Carrington has kept her dream to become the first Kiwi woman to claim two Olympic golds at the same Games alive this morning. After claiming her second consecutive Olympic gold in the women's K1 200m just yesterday, Carrington has safely progressed to tomorrow morning's final after easing through both her heat and semifinal races overnight. Carrington placed first in her heat with a time of one minute 54.765 seconds, the 12th-fastest of the opening races. She then finished a comfortable second in her semifinal, never looking like dropping out of the top two qualifying positions.
