Some thought Ilkay Gundogan had died when Man City paid tribute to him in their Premier League fixture against Arsenal this morning.
The Sky Blues walked out at Etihad Stadium wearing Gundogan shirts backwards in a tribute to their fellow teammate.
However, many football fans were left confused.
Gundogan suffered damage to the cruciate ligament in his right knee during Thursday's win over Watford, and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
It would seem his teammates were showing their solidarity for the poor midfielder.
But was it a little too much? Football fans seemed to think so, taking to Twitter to voice their distaste.
Some fans thought it bore an eerily similar tone to when Neymar was injured for Brazil during the World Cup in 2014.
