New Zealand's Julian Dean admits his build-up hasn't been the best as he counts down to his seventh Tour de France ride.
Dean will lead out sprinters Thor Hushovd and Tyler Farrar for the Garmin-Cervelo team.
He says its been an up and down year so far battling injuries and illness.
The Tour de France starts on Saturday night.
