A frontal system associated with a low in the Tasman Sea moves across New Zealand today. Tomorrow, the associated front moves northwards over the North Island, while a ridge of high pressure builds over the country behind the front. On Wednesday, a low pressure system moves southwards onto the North Island, while a weakening front over the Tasman Sea reaches Fiordland late in the day. During Thursday, the low moves southeast over northern and central New Zealand. On Friday, the low pressure system moves away to the east, while a front moves rapidly northeast over the country.
