A ridge of high pressure covers most of New Zealand today and tomorrow. A front over the lower South Island moves north today and weakens, while a southeast flow affects the North Island. A large high covers central and southern New Zealand on Wednesday, while a showery southeasterly flow affects eastern parts of the North Island. On Thursday, the high covers most of New Zealand. On Friday, the high moves east of the North Island while a low pressure system approaches the west of New Zealand from the Tasman Sea.
