People are being urged to be cautious as rain's expected to affect a large part of the North Island this weekend.
A number of severe weather warnings and watches for heavy rain during Friday and Saturday have been issued.
WeatherWatch.co.nz head weather analyst Philip Duncan says rain will be heaviest in the western and central parts of the island. He says we're expecting up to 170mm of rain, which could lead to some flooding and some slips.
Mr Duncan says this isn't cause for too much concern, but something to watch out for.
