TVNZ is delighted that the first episode of its heavily publicised new series The Pacific attracted almost a million viewers.
Ratings from AGB Nielsen show Monday night's screening of the 10-part series, produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, drew 954,700 viewers - more than 30 per cent of the people who were watching television on Monday night.
