Shots fired in apparent gang incident

The Armed Offenders Squad was called this afternoon after reports of shots being fired in a Waikato town and gang members being involved.

Police said a firearm had been secured and five people were being spoken to after the 3pm incident in the to Ngaruawahia, north-west of Hamilton.

Nobody was hurt and police are investigating.
