New Zealand Herald reader John Sutherland was out in his boat Shark Bait on June 14 and filmed this fantastic footage of about 25 to 30 Orca whales playing in Chamberlain's Bay at the back of Ponui Island near Auckland. He has seen them there before at this time of the year but not in these large numbers. Usually there are between 5 to 7 whales in a Pod but this day John counted over 25 in the pod playing. A truly amazing experience he will never forget.
