The homegrown Kiwibank was heading for the start of a nationwide rollout today as it cut the ribbon at its new branch in Albany on the northern outskirts of Auckland.
The Albany PostShop branch follows the successful pilot opening of seven branches in Palmerston North and Hawke's Bay.
The bank plans to open up to 30 branches a week for the next two months.
Today's ceremony was due to be attended by Kiwibank chairman Jim Bolger and New Zealand Post chairman Ross Armstrong.
