A P lab and a cannabis-growing operation were both busted during raids by the Waikato Armed Offenders squad.
Inspector Andrew Mortimore, Waikato West Area Commander, this afternoon confirmed three people - two men and one woman - were arrested during the two separate searches in Huntly this morning.
At a property on Hakarimata Rd, police uncovered evidence of a methamphetamine, or P, lab along with class A and class C drugs as well as several firearms.
However, Mortimore didn't rule out the laying of further charges pending a more thorough examination of the property today.
The occupants, a 35-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, were arrested.
The man was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of equipment to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of material to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of precursor substances to manufacture methamphetamine and breach of bail.
The woman was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession equipment to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of material to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of precursor substances to manufacture methamphetamine.
The pair will appear in the Hamilton District Court later today or tomorrow.
"Police are continuing to carry out a scene examination at the address and at the conclusion of this, more charges may be laid."
A 54-year-old man was also charged with drug offences after a cannabis growing operation was found at a Harris St property.
He was charged with cultivating cannabis, possession of equipment to cultivate cannabis and possession of class C utensils.
He will appear in court at a later date.
Mortimore said the arrests would help "stem the supply of drugs to people in Waikato West communities".
"Police are committed to preventing further harm and antisocial behaviours by holding people involved in the manufacture and supply of drugs to account.
"Drugs have no place in our community, they destroy the lives of the users, as well as harming their whanau, friends and wider circles."
He encouraged anyone with information on the manufacture and supply of illicit drugs to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
