A young driver has escaped injury after crashing his dad's car into Palmers Garden Centre's electric fence.
Police were called to the crash around 8.15am.
A media spokeswoman said no other vehicles were involved and the driver was not injured.
Palmers Rotorua duty manager Rachel Beckett said she arrived to work just after the crash happened.
"The driver was quite young, probably late teens, early twenties, he said it was his dad's car. He came over and apologised to us, I think he was pretty embarrassed about the whole thing.
"He's taken out the left hand side of his car, he went right through the netting and electric fence, taking down a signpost in the process.
"He went up through the garden - there were quite a few skid marks.
"There's a bit of a clean up to do. We'll have to replace the fence but at the end of the day I'm just glad no-one was hurt."
