An 11-year-old girl has been assaulted in an attack in Carterton over the weekend.
The girl wasn't injured in the assault, which happened between 2.30 and 3.30pm on Saturday in Fisher Place.
Wairarapa police are looking for any witnesses to the assault, or anyone who saw someone matching the offender's description.
He is described as a male Maori, aged between 20 and 30 years old. He was wearing a black hooded top with writing or a logo on the right-hand side, black pants, black adidas shoes, and a red and white bandana.
Police are supporting the girl and her family.
They also want to hear from anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area of Fisher Place, Carterton on Saturday afternoon.
