The mother and daughter killed in a shooting in Northland have been described as "wonderful" and "lovely" women who will leave a gap in many lives.
Wendy Campbell and her daughter Natanya went to a remote Northland home yesterday morning to carry out repairs.
Within hours, they'd been shot dead, the rental property they managed was burned to the ground, and contractor Jeff Pipe was in hospital with gunshot wounds.
Since then, friends of the pair have been posting tributes on Facebook.
Vicky Martin posted a photo of the mother and daughter saying: "A beautiful photo of a mum and daughter who were taken from this world today. Stripped from their families, their friends and relatives. No words can bring you back but you are forever in our hearts. "Girl" we will always be here for Pete and the girls. For your Dad, your brother and his whanau. Love you to the moon and back cuzzin. Forever and always. Wendy Kelly Campbell Rodgers, Natanya Campbell. May they rest in peace, and may the perpetual light shine on them both."
