A Bay of Plenty man has been convicted of murdering a 14-week-old baby boy, who died of severe head injuries.
At the High Court in Tauranga, a jury tonight unanimously found the defendant guilty on a charge of murdering Richard Royal Uddin on June 7 last year.
The baby was pronounced dead after being rushed to Tauranga Hospital by his mother.
Justice Mary Peters convicted the man, who cannot be identified for legal reason, and remanded him in custody for sentencing on August 18.
