Police have issued an arrest warrant for Jamie Lesley Jones in connection with an alleged hit and run that left a cyclist in a critical condition in Napier yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Waterworth Ave, Onekawa, at 11.45am.
Detective Sergeant Darren Pritchard said the 49-year-old victim, a man from Napier, was involved in an altercation with another man before being struck by a vehicle.
"The driver of the vehicle left the area immediately after the incident."
A warrant has been issued for 31-year-old Jamie Lesley Jones, of Napier, in connection with the incident.
The victim remained in a critical condition in Hawke's Bay Hospital.
