Police are on the hunt for a man who robbed a TAB in Dunedin at gunpoint last night, just two weeks after an armed robbery of a service station on the same street.
The man went into the TAB outlet on Hillside Rd just after 8pm and threatened staff with what was believed to be a firearm, police said.
Investigations at the scene continued this morning and police have asked anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the South Dunedin area to come forward.
On June 13, three men with weapons including a sword and a firearm robbed the Mobil Forbury service station on Hillside Rd.
The offenders, described as male and in their 20s, entered the petrol station with their faces covered about 1.50am.
Cash and tobacco were taken in the robbery. No one was injured.
Anyone with information is asked to call Dunedin Police on 03 471 4800 or they can speak with Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
