Prime Minister John Key has taken his wife, Bronagh, and son, Max, with him on his official visit to Sydney.
Mr Key touched down last night and was due to head straight out to a private dinner with New South Wales Premier Mike Baird.
Today, Mr Key is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, and then the Keys will be the private guests of Mr Turnbull and his wife, Lucy, at their harbourside home in Point Piper.
Max Key has accompanied his father on several previous trips overseas. One summer, he managed to play golf with the PM and US President Barack Obama in Hawaii.
And he and his sister, Stephie, an art student in Paris, were invited with their parents to spend a weekend at Balmoral Castle in Scotland as guests of the Queen.
Max is a former commerce student but is now dabbling in music. Today, he is due to release his first single, Forget You, which is rumoured to be about a former girlfriend.
The Prime Minister's party also includes a high-powered business delegation, including Rod Drury from Xero and Miles Hurrell from Fonterra.
