A Hamilton man who crashed into a police patrol car and clambered over an injured toddler to escape pursuing officers has been charged with driving and drug-related offences.
The 38-year-old fled after being pulled over on Seddon Rd in central Hamilton for routine checks about 11.30am on Thursday.
The 18-month-old girl, who was unrestrained in the front passenger seat, was taken to Waikato Hospital for a check up.
A constable was also injured, suffering cuts to the head.
