Internal Affairs has reminded people that daylight saving ends on Sunday morning.
The change occurs at 3am with the time reverting to 2am.
People may find it convenient to put their clocks back by one hour before going to bed on Saturday night, Internal Affairs said today.
"As well as changing clocks, the end of daylight saving is an opportune time for people to check their household emergency plans and survival kits and home smoke alarms," the department said.
Daylight saving starts again on September 25.
