A carload of teenage girls has been involved in a crash near Kereru west of Hastings.
They were on their way to the races at the Hastings Spring Carnival when their vehicle overturned on a slight bend in the road.
Two girls were seriously injured.
The Lowe Corporation rescue helicopter flew one of them to hospital in Hastings while the other, along with two more with moderate injuries, were taken by road ambulance to hospital.
