Police are investigating an alleged group attack on a man in Rotorua last night.
The incident took place around 11.30pm while the victim was walking through Hazlett St through to Clinkard Ave, police said.
Sergeant Mike Membery said a group of men and women allegedly attacked the man who was later taken to Rotorua Hospital by St John Ambulance.
"We're still trying to establish his injuries, it appears it was a fairly decent beating," Mr Membery said.
Three people have been arrested so far including a 21-year-old man, a 27-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman who have been charged with assault.
Mr Membery said although the number of people involved in the attack had not been confirmed, there were other people involved in some way and police were trying to find them.
He urged anyone with information about the attack to contact police.
