A new team of New Zealand Red Cross workers is heading over to Queensland today to help with the state's recovery from Cyclone Yasi.
The four-strong party will have one based at the Red Cross National Planning Office in Brisbane, while the other three will work in the field, a Red Cross spokesman said.
They will stay in Australia for 10 days.
Cyclone Yasi tore through coastal districts south of Innisfail, Queensland, about midnight on February 2 causing widespread damage.
Red Cross said it was possible the team could be re-deployed to assist with the Victorian flood relief operation.
