Police are after a "short, tubby" middle-aged man who indecently assaulted a teenage girl near a Christchurch school today.
Police said at about 11.15am, the 14-year-old was walking outside St Martins School when she noticed an Indian man get out of his car.
He approached her, asking for an address in Glenelg Spur, in the suburb of Hillsborough.
The teen didn't know the address and apologised to the man, who then hugged her and grabbed her bottom.
A few minutes later the teen was approached by the man again..
He drove alongside her and stopped in front of her as she walked along Huntsbury Ave.
The man got out of his car and indecently assaulted the teen, lifting her dress.
Police have appealed for sightings of a "short and tubby" clean-shaven Indian man in his mid to late 40s.
He was wearing a checked shirt, business pants and shoes.
His vehicle is described as a late-model, silver, four-door hatchback.
