Te Papa scientists weigh a massive, rare point-tailed sunfish that washed up on Omaha Beach earlier this year ahead of an examination to find out what sex it is, cause of death and what it’s last meal was. The sunfish was identified by Auckland Museum head of research Dr Tom Trnski and then sent to Te Papa where it can be maintained as a whole specimen for research and display. courtesy youtube.com/tepapamuseum
Click here for more information on Te Papa museum.
