Balcony murder accused Gable Tostee has lost his bid for early release on driving charges.
Tostee, 29, is accused of murdering New Zealander Warriena Wright, who fell to her death from his 14th storey balcony in August last year.
He has lost his appeal against a jail sentence related to a drunken car chase just weeks before Ms Wright's death, the Brisbane Times reported.
Tostee was sentenced to 10 months in prison on February 2 for being drunk behind the wheel and speeding away from police as he left the Splendour in the Grass festival in July 2014.
The Brisbane Times said in Lismore District Court today Judge Anthony Blackmore upheld the ruling and dismissed Tostee's appeal.
He is awaiting trial on the death of Ms Wright, who he met on dating app Tinder.
Ms Wright, known to friends as Rrie, fell to her death after allegedly climbing over the balcony of Tostee's Surfers Paradise apartment.
In November Tostee pleaded not guilty to a murder charge and was released on bail.
